Yellow leaf photo quilt

Here's another photo and the resulting quilt (it's about 20 inches by 15 inches). These leaf prints were the ones that didn't come out too great because the toner cartridge was running out of ink--I am making a larger quilt using the same photos and better prints. I had to color in the black areas in this quilt to cover up the light grey lines made by the printer. But it came out just fine and I didn't have to waste even one piece of precious fabric from Color Textiles (www.colortextiles.com). I am using their white cotton sheeting, it is about the same weight as most quilting cottons.

Marina, I really like what you are doing with repeating and reversing images. And I think the slightly faded colors in this case are a plus. Beautiful!

Oooo! The leaves look very 3-D as if you can touch them! Love it!

Yeha, I like this one too. The four images make for an interesting composition, but, don't over power my eyes (as the piece with the pier image).

Thanks! Elle is right, the quilting really makes the leaves look 3D. I am quilting a larger version of this quilt right now, it has a few more repeats of the picture, but I don't think it is "overpowering."

The pier picture is actually not that bad, because it is so much larger than the others--it is hard to tell scale on my blog. Trust me! :-)
