Half Moon Bay Brewing Company

Today we had lunch at the Half Moon Bay Brewing Company, which is right in the harbor. At this time of year there are many pumpkin menu choices, including this pumpkin soup that was served in a tiny pumpkin!

Pumpkin Festival!

Yesterday I waited in line for 2 hours to get pumpkin pancakes, then walked through the entire festival and ended up at the iPumpkin booth in front of Coastside.net's building. Besides the pancakes, I ate nachos and a mimosa in the official wine glass (you have to buy a glass and also pay for the drink, but I can bring the glass back again today). The orange ferari parked on Main street was a very popular attraction. The inflated jump house is on highway 92 (I snapped the pic while stuck in slow traffic coming home Friday night), and you can see my friend wearing an amazing candy corn hat she knitted and felted herself. I bought the mini white pumpkins last weekend and painted ghost faces on them, that is my Halloween decorating for the year :-)

Lots of cool ceramic sculptures at Ft Mason

I took a lot of photos of the sculptures, there were so many that I liked.

Blue Angels and Ceramic Art!

Today, we had a delicious brunch at Greens (Ft. Mason) and also visited a wonderful Ceramics show, all while the Blue Angels and other amazing planes were doing stunts over the Bay! At one point, the planes flew so low that they set off car alarms in some vehicles parked at Ft Mason. We had to pay $20 to park at the Marina Middle School parking lot about three blocks away, but it was worth it.

Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival App!

Check out this fun video about the new Pumpkin Festival App! I wrote the script and took the photos, and the voices are my DH and a friend. The pumpkins were grown in a neighbor's yard.

Murals of Monterey

In the patio outside the Museum of Monterey, these tile murals are embedded in the wall. I love the illustration style and colors. Wouldn't they make nice quilt patterns?

Museum of Monterey visit

Sunday, I visited the Museum of Monterey for the first time. It's right on the water in downtown Monterey, and although it's small, the artwork was very interesting. There's a nice gift shop, too, selling some work by local artists. Then we went to Cannery Row for lunch at the Fishhopper, which is on a pier over the water--great views and the food is excellent, too.

I went APE today!

Actually, I went to the Alternative Press Expo (APE) in San Francisco. As usual, it was full of eager new faces, proud to show their artwork to the world, many for the first time. MY DD was one of those faces!
