New Deli in Half Moon Bay
I finally stopped by the new Tortellini Pasta store in HMB last week. They sell a few deli items and freshly made pasta, the Lobster Ravioli is the most popular (according to them!) The raviolis are black and the filling does indeed taste like lobster, you can choose the sauce but they recommended white sauce, which was delicious. The dinners are about $10 each to go. It's easy to miss this spot along the highway--turn into the parking lot where you see the red railroad caboose.

Mondrian t-shirts are done!
DS finally finished his Mondrian t-shirts. We purchased the materials for these in the summer of 2010, but he did not get around to making them until spring break this week. (we did do a lot of other sewing in 2010). He layered several t-shirts of different colors, cut them all up at one time, and rearranged the pieces to make the color block pattern. I shot a couple of other things in my sewing room while I was taking the shirt picture this morning: my Camperdown Elm quilt, cute collectibles in the windowsill, and my two "replacement daughters", as my DD calls them. Yes, I made the sweaters they're wearing.

Ft Mason Contemporary Crafts Show
The lure of wine tasting and a sunny day in San Francisco lured me to the Contemporary Crafts Fair today. There was only one winery pouring, but the chocolate tasting added to the fun. We grabbed some Greens takeout and ate in the building across the street, which had some nice student art on display, before tackling the crafts show.

A glorious summer day in March
Our weirdly dry winter just gave us a bit of rain, then went back to warm and sunny. I spent nearly all day yesterday in the garden, pulling weeds on the patio while my kindle read books to me. I also picked some flowers as a reward for my hard work. This photo shows the miniature daffodils that I found blooming in an unnoticed corner of the yard and decided to bring indoors where they could be admired more easily. I also cut a flowering branch from the plum tree and added one large calla lily, and branches from two other flowering bushes--those are in a very tall vase in the living room.
